We recently finished designing the new identity for the Ojai Valley Youth Foundation in Ojai, California. The OVYF is a non–profit community organization that provides mentoring and community services to the youth of the Ojai Valley. Of course, I am on the Board of Directors of this exceptional community organization. In the past year, the PULL team has been working with the OVYF leadership to develop more engaging communications that are targeted to members of the community where 80 per cent of the funding for the organization comes from. Grounding the new communications programs is the introduction of a new visual identity for the organization. The new identity is evocative of the energy, vitality and engagement our young people have in the community at large. OVYF serves youth in both middle school and high school age groups.
We’ll be working closely with the OVYF to roll out the new visual identity in all of its communications and events this year. A big part of this work will be created and produced by the young people who are involved in the OVYF in house, youth driven, social marketing communications team known as Generation Communications. This is an awesome forum for these young people to experiment with career opportunities and education in the media arts. Mentoring these kids has been a great source of satisfaction to me.
